Today a game of equal halves. Neither anything special mind. Well, actually not tragic, but I think we have been spoiled by a (when allowed afloat by weather) pretty amazing Summer, right through till that big storm really. Odd days a struggle, but on the whole, some quality fishing. And now I have to get my head around the reality, that winter somehow really did get here.

Not all gloom though. No coddies landed, but two definitely bumped off on consecutive drifts annoyingly. And more bass around today, including fish which just 19 days ago, would almost certainly be gracing a table.

Morning session, poor Armando faithfully stuck to his guns trying for a squid. But few were having it. Just one small one, to my HTO mighty minnow (soon to be back in stock BTW. Hoorah!!) to make at least his wife happy, even if he will have to watch her eat it. We are off out on the wall in a mo to try and rectify that scenario mind. But typically, in the afternoon they were all over the shads, yet nobody fancied fishing for them. Funny old game.

Wrasse and gurnards made up the collection. I dont think lack of fish was the issue today, more the lack of lure control, especially as I am inclined to encourage more vertical jigging when coddies are about. Perhaps tomorrow will tell, with a much better forecast than the bullying Northerly wind skudding us across the tide we had to play with today. Still one space on 0700 sailing, and 2 currently on 1130 sailing. 07970 112774 to get on board.
