Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 17th October 2018 - C.A.T 43

Robin Howard (a.k.a. Fishyrob)

Very hurried blog coz I want to get to the pub to celebrate the 2nd birthday of the facebook group "Brighton Skies", where us people who like to snap stuff out and about in Brighton post our... well... stuff...

First sailing my old mucker Andy and another old mucker Neil joined my new mucker Richard. The target was bass. And the bass played ball. Over fifty bass to the boat, a table fish for all, and some returned for being too big.

2nd sailing we swapped Richard for Lee, and I decided to give it 30 minutes on a cod spot. Thing was, we kept catching cod so stayed for half the session. Five coddies later, and it was off to the bass. The bass once more obliged, although not quite in the earlier numbers. Well, actually the bass were there in their earlier numbers, but were joined by too many mackerel, which tend to nip in and smash the lure before the bass. But still, a very very good day indeed. Inshore fishing with lures, really rocks at this time of year. Come try before the winter storms come mess it all up again. Very few spaces still available, but worth a ring on 07970 112774 with sailings looking like continuing into next week.
