What to expect today... A session like yesterday afternoon's blank session does rather take the wind out of ones sails, figuratively speaking. I was quite happy to use a SE breeze to cancel the rest of the day today, as I do believe, with another cloudless sky combined with heat, the fishing will again be poor. But first sailings are unique. It is still quite viable to find the fishes that were right up browsing the surf line during the darkness in tight. It is only when the sun has climbed a bit, that the fishes seem to react. And so it turned out.
With me, regulars David and Kevin, and returning due to a poor trip last week brothers Liam and Jack. Just a single fish between them last week. This morning, no blankers as we accrued ten bass and a solitary mackerel to the boat. A fairly average session on the year so far, but a blinder compared to the previous afternoon. Just two table fish from that though, so sizes could do with improving. Wind kills tomorrow for my little tub, but hopefully some sailings as these big tides drop smaller, as I favour these the most for seasonal changes, which is what we desperately need in the edges.
