Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 11th October 2025

ree

Very brief report as still lots of real life stuff to do and having a bit of a run of good weather so long days again. First sailing out with some of my best rods. It went fairly as expected. A bit slow until the flood, and then they came on a bit. But the stock today was a shadow of yesterdays. From 20 bass landed, zero killed. To compensate, the guys picked up some squid for dinner.

2nd sailing, Mathew and his daughter Ellie, and his son Edward, beginners, plus Johan, rediscovering his love of fishing. I put Mathew, Ellie and Edward on the squid, as beginners, especially youngsters, need to catch and it was a good call. They had a lot of fun and loads of squid. And Johan I kept on the bass. We had 2 bass each, but his were both keepers and mine were both not. Not great numbers, but had we been five rods bassing, there would have been more.

3rd sailing I am gutted because I had a lovely picture of Ernest and his Mrs, their daughter Jenny and her friend Victoria all crowded around a pile of 60 squid topped with 3 good plaice. But the picture didnt come out. We all got covered, the boat is already ready for another deep clean, but it really doesnt matter, because we didnt stop laughing for 3 hours. Squid are a lot of fun...
