Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 13th May 2025

Out with Max, Kieron and Simon, all regulars, and new to BIF1 John. How things change so quickly. At the end of March the last hour of old ebb tide, first hour of the new flood tide, were the best of the fishing. Now, with sandeels creeping in to no 1 position as primary food source, some flow is most useful. As such, first sailing was a bit of a struggle. Not as hard as yesterday, with 12 fish landed, but fishes were quite small, with just one killed for the table.

2nd sailing we had the flow, and although only 2 rods on board as Ian and Jason had booked the whole boat for themselves, the fishing was better and the fish bigger. Maximum kill, plus more keepers released, and 22 being the final count on absolutely mirror seas. A great day to be a charter skipper to be fair, as with good weather comes good spirits and good banter.
