Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 14th May 2025

Wind was only allowing one sailing today, and the window for it, actually very well predicted, said 1000 sailing was the one that could go. Joining me on this trip were regulars Mikhail, Matt, Andre and, I believe visiting from Russia, Andre's dad, Vladimir. Wind literally died as we journeyed to where I knew the sand eel shoals would be.

The seagulls provided the fine tuning, and so began what was a text book session. When the gulls finally tired of us throwing our boat at them and moved on, I had already noted the main patch of baitfish, and so we continued to plunder. No less than sixty bass landed, with a maximum kill and plenty more returned. Lots of super fat mackerel as well, plus a solitary bream and a gurnard. If Carlsberg made bass on lure sessions, they would have been very proud of that one. I certainly am. A fantastic way to kill three hours for sure.
