Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 15th October 2025

Scheduled for 2 sailings today, but actually cut the first one shore due to a stronger than forecast NE wind pushing the boat way too fast across the current even for squid. With me regulars David and Fred, fishing bass, and Andrew and John, fishing for squid. We can actually facilitate this at the moment, as they are inhabiting the same grounds.

In the two hours fishing, David, Fred and I boated 8 bass, with 6 despatched, which shows how the quality continues. And as for squid, hoodles while out a bit. When the wind first forced us in close, the catch rate dropped a bit, but small packs every now and then kept the guys focused. No idea the final tally but loads!!

Dock comes out of the water for repair tomorrow, and the cost of lifting it was significant so I have thrown another sailing on tomorrow, with much kinder winds, and great timing on the tide. With the excellent squid and bass fishing continuing, im already excited. But I have a job with six excited squidders on the shingle tonight to do first. Last night we totalled well over 50 squid, and big smiles all round. Tonight I suspect we will get more.
