Two sailings planned originally, all with the same group. Tim, Tims son Fred, and Dan. Tim and Dan thankfully had an enjoyable trip with me a couple of years back and were now up for more. Today looked like a cancel right up to yesterday evening, when the forecast suddenly improved. Not completely though. We still had to scrap the breakfast break and in the end, running back to back we got in five hours before the wind made the sea state uncomfortable.
The fishing however, was uncomfortable from the start. A very sterile sea, and where we did find fish, we struggled for action. Until Tim slipped a metal on, and confirmed. There are two types of fish that mark like bass. One is bass, one is horse mackerel. Thats what was ignoring our rubber. But there were a few bass. Well, four in total. And happily, one was a 58cm belter for Tim.
