A rescheduling of sailings to allow that vicious NE wind from this morning to pass. It was a screamer, and in no way would shad fishing have been viable. But the forecast had the wind for decreasing significantly around 1300 and vanishing completely at 1700. Hmmm... Well, first bit was true and I was able to get Peter and his son Ben, plus Justin and his son Fin, out quite safely. The breeze didnt make things easy though, and neither did the tidal state, approaching the low. Just two fish for the three hours, one for the table for Ben.

Next sailing was at 1700. The wind did not, sadly, drop out completely although it did threaten to a couple of times, enough that I made it out to a shoal of bass I have been playing with. But we only stayed for one schoolie as out on the 2 mile line it was still too lumpy for BIF1. Back in tight, but at least with the new flood we were able to sneak out a total of 6 bass, 4 table sized, biggest 61cm to my rod. Some action, and a stunning sunset, meant smiles all round at the departure gate.
