The tough, quite typical, June fishing continues.
First up, I had my first fly rodders of the year aboard. I used to get more but even quite hardened fly anglers that were, seem to have all become lure anglers these days, and in don't blame them as catching bass on a fly is no easy task. But both managed it, although small bass were the feature of the trip. And then Tom, who previously had not fished with a fixed spool before, was very quickly casting like a pro with the lure rod for the final 30 minutes, and managed his first lure caught fish as well. Despite only small fish, most enjoyable.

Next up, Yaseen and Nahin, new to BIF1, and regulars Dean and Matt. small fish featured, right up to five minutes into injury time, when happily, Dean snagged a real one. And straight away the cogs in my head started spinning, due to the location of that fish. And already, I look forward to heading out once more, Likely to be Tuesday as a stiff easterly comes to play tomorrow. Spaces on both 0500 and 0900 sailings.
