Out with Nick and James, returning, and new to BIF1, Rob and Sam. Such a different morning to the previous one also. Air temperatures much lower, but with the pleasant sunshine and very light breezes it was a pleasure, rather than a test of endurance, to be out. I even repeated the previous days routine, but without the wind we were able to fish properly, and PLAN A was the right approach. A creep through the rocks, looking for quality, not numbers. It results in nine bass landed, with seven killed for the table, and the biggest to James, the fish being very unlucky being about 0.2 cm shorter than my limit for killing (59.8cm) Now the boat is reserved for my engineer to fix the fuel sender lying that it always has half a tank of fuel.
Those of you booked over the weekend, start thinking of plan B's. Might be some bait or some lures in the river I can offer, so please ask if you get the "sorry, wind is too strong" text. Else type YOUR NAME and SHORE in a text and send it to 07970 112774 to be added to the whatsapp group where the shore work happens. 66 bass felt the shingle last week between my clients and I.
