Usually, we follow the weather forecast, and watch with tears as promised windows of opportunity gradually become buried by forecasts of ever increasing SW winds. Especially at this time of year. However, this week we had the reverse. Today glowed as perhaps the only chance to get out there for a couple of weeks. Swell charts showed a distinct window of OK for BIF1, although perhaps just the one sailing, and with such good bassing now upon us, it did not take long to find four souls up for some spikey action.

David, Yordan, Chris and James made up the crew, and it was bass from the first drift. Quality fish as well. Max kill achieved quickly and still the fishes were falling to the Axia mighty minnows. The second John Dory of the year also appeared, falling to Chris's rod. And James and Yordan both showed there is still a p[ague of squid down there towards the end of the session.

The final tally was 23 bass landed, mostly 2-5lb class. Plus the dory, and a single mackerel, plus squid. All in all a most excellent session, and I am gutted that we are now unlikely to sail for at least 7 days, due to more autumnal storms rolling in from the West. Typical autumn weather I guess. I am already excited for the next break from the winds. Plenty of availability at the moment, with the availability list up to date to the end of November.
