As predicted, the fishes are there, feeding on the sprat and herring shoals. But the wind and clarity remain a bit of an arse. Apologies for my crudeness, but this sailing rather highlights how frustrating the current weather system is. This mornings wind, due East instead of the NE forecast, and swells nothing like forecast with big troughs and white water running on the tops. Smashed around getting Mitch, Ed, Danny and Gavin wet for 20 minutes to find some fish. Fished the fish for ten minutes, for six fish, two in the can, and then wind against tide rollers that are not for BIF1's comfort. Back in we came. And sadly, I am also watching Xmas eve, Xmas day and Boxing day all deteriorate as although the winds are forecast to be NE, once they reach 25mph the boat is scudded across the tide and the catch rate drops to nothing... Spaces on the 27th, and thereafter, and plenty of fish out there. Dont forget the close season is not until the 1st February anyhow. But you only have me until Sunday 4th January.

Other business - If the short, gloomy and chilly days are affecting you, I do still have three rods available where the almond blossom is already happening. Portugal. Two rods 12-19th January, one rod 19th to 26th January. Some very different light line lure fishing for bass, spotted bass, large mouthed black bass, carp, barbel and Zander. Just £750 covers accommodation (stunning), transfers and guiding. Drop a text to 07970 112774 if interested.
