Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 26th August 2026

Amazing fishing first sailing. Good numbers of bait fish in tight, with a newly flooding tide. A great combination. Started well close to the marina, and got better after just one move. 53 fish landed in total. Max kill at 3 fish per angler (sizes were in the 2-3lb range, which is the bulk of the current bass stock). And the best bit? All fish were taken off the top. I have two spaces on tomorrows 0600 sailing, which could be the last sailing for perhaps ten days.

2nd sailing, and it was clearly going off the boil. We managed to put together 7 bass, with just 2 for the table. plus mackerel. A bit of an anti-climax. Although 3rd sailing was worse, as fish vanished and the boat was rolling. I canned that one after an hour. But wow. That first sailing!!!
