I am not 100 percent sure what constitutes good light line lure fishing at the back end of December. Just getting afloat is pretty good going, and although the winds were from the NE and much reduced from recent days, it was still a bit bouncy out there, and yet, we went. And we found fish. Again, pretty good for the final few days of 2025. With me first sailing just 3, as we were a man down during the night. Kevin and JJ, returning, and JJ bringing Rohan to me for the first time on BIF1.

It could have been better. We could have had more bites. And yet, the four of us boated 8 bass, and Rohan also nailed the best Gurnard I have seen all year. A little reminder that their spawning is imminent, and the bass reminded us they are currently at it, as they liberated their man juice on boarding. Three bass killed.

Next sailing was briefly flat, before the wind increased and with it being now wind against tide, some fairly deep furrows appeared. We soldiered on, but I couldnt quite nail any shoals. Plenty of birds, and baitfish, but just 4 bass, with one killed. Plus a dogfish, and three whiting. Looking like next sailing will be New years eve, and possibly that will be my last one until my return from Portugal.
