Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 2nd April 2026

A mirror of yesterday in many aspects. Other than it was much windier, but far less bouncy for first sailing. Out with me Nico, Paul, Adrian and David. All doing it right. But it took a brief break in the strong Northerly wind for a dash a little further off to find fish of the session, a nice bass for Nico. Quite frustrating as inshore although nice and flat, is still hit and miss for fishes on lures. Out a bit, more reliable.

As proved by second sailing. Alex and Seb were joined by Peter and Gary and much fun, and far more action was enjoyed. A few fairly solid fish dropped off though, and a trickle of suspicion that perhaps bream were responsible, was fairly well backed up by a good table sized fish caught in the 3rd session. But as for fish landed, 11 was the number of bass, and a brace went home with each person that wanted them. A wrasse was also landed by Peter, who also caught the biggest fish of the day.

Third and final sailing, we were chased back in by the wind right at the end. But prior to that Max, Ted,, Kaz and Kevin had some action, although still not really kicking as well as I would like. Six landed with just a brace being killed. And now of course, a traditional easter bank holiday weekend, with big winds predicted. I do have currently a little window that shows the 0630 sailing on Monday may happen, with 2 spaces available. If thats a piece of you, message 07970 112774
