Brighton Inshore Fishing - catch report 2nd August 2026

when I set off from my house at 0430 this morning, it was with the intention to fish 4 sessions today. 3 on bass, 1 on cuttlefish. But conditions were strangely bouncy on the first sailing, which caused me to check the forecast once more. It had changed out of all recognition, and I cancelled later sailings there and then.

First sailing was a bit of a struggle but towards the end I did find a drift with some fish on it. Just five bass landed, two for the table. Wind causing issues as we lost tide, the session all being on the tail of the ebb.
