Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 2nd May 2025

3 sailings, all full, was too much for Neptune to bare, so he rather threw a spanner in the works. First sailing, with regulars Gabs, Omar, Lee and Paul, went ok. Target was at least a take home apiece for this wonderful BBQ weather, due to end with coldness on Sunday. And target was reached, with twelve bass landed, six for the table. Nicely.

Pit stop for breakfast, and my guys for 2nd sailing, John, Dan, Ian and Alastair, all on time. Out we headed, sunshine, fairly flat seas, and a fresh new flood. This lasted for perhaps 30 minutes before a thick fog descended, and, for no reason I can understand as the wind remained light, a big swell. Like, properly bumpy. Combined with 50 feet of visibility it left only one option Abandon the sailing and head back in to safety. A great shame, especially as I had very high hopes for a big bag on the 3rd sailing, also cancelled.
