Just the one sailing today. A tiny little window in the wind, which eased back as it swung from a stiff Northerly to a stiff SW. But a 3 hour hole of light winds as it did so. With me Tim and Peter, returning, and Michael and Ian, new to BIF1, Ian returning to fishing after many many years, as a 60th birthday present from Michael. And Neptune does like a birthday party.

I went for a non bird chasing strategy, after warning the guys numbers would be low, but quality likely high. And that is exactly how it turned out. Of the 9 bass landed, no less than 7 were over the 42, with the biggest into the fifties to Tim. No beasts, but plenty of dinner, as we watched the winds perform exactly as forecast, coming back in just as white caps were being created by the SW winds.
