On the fishing front, this is one of those trips that I would prefer not to have to write up. However, our transparency policy compels me to. On a personal note, I enjoyed the company of this family, father David and his two sons, Alfie and Bill, immensely. I for some reason clicked instantly with David, without even needing to work out what made him tick. And his lads were equally amiable, and witty. The banter was top class. The fishing, was completely dire. A single wrasse landed. A tail bitten off a shad after a short tussle for zero fish. And that was pretty much it. Plaice fishing was impossible, again due to the strong wind pushing us along too fast. I did try leading up the rigs, which was successful for keeping the isomes down, but plaice simply arent inclined to work that hard for a feed in our waters. And the usual failsafe, some rough ground inshore, simply was devoid. I was very sad not to have given these lovely people more action.
