Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 5th May 2018

Uber short catch report tonight for 2 reasons... 1 ... Im shot... 2 Fishing badly affected by May rot and short tides... The fish are there, but I could only get the drift fishing nicely on the 2nd session. 1st Session new to BIF1 Phil was out. A thinking angler, although the fishing was particularly slow (about 8 pout and a schoolie) I do think he got some value, and some insight into what we do.

2nd session started fairly poorly. Pout, a decent Tub Gurnard, a few small plaice, and then, in quick succession two in the 2.5 - 3lb range... Marky and Robert, both new to BIF1, I think enjoyed.

3rd session, and my friend Neda and her lad Luka joined regular Jamie for the sunset session. Well, the sunset didnt disapoint, but I simply couldnt get BIF1 to drift west on the tide, due to a NW breeze, and the fishing suffered as a result. A couple of pout, an amazing sunset, and for Neda and Luka, I thought quite a beautiful shared time. Luka was unlucky. Three times he managed to hook into decent fish. Three times the hook pulled. I hope they come back when things get better.

3 rods 1st sailing (Just turn up at Zizzi at 0515 if you read this and fancy it). 1 rod 2nd sailing, 2 rods 3rd and 4th sailing tomorrow - 07970 112774 to get on board. New meeting place for 2nd, 3rd and 4th sessions is "PIGGIES" at the rear of the wetherspoon pub.
