Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 16th May 2026

Once again only the super early start surviving the weather forecast, as from mid morning, stiff SW breezes are due to ruin the day. With me Dean, Ian and Mark, all returnee's, and Cezar, come to check out the fishyrob operation for the first time. And almost yet another catastrophe as up until the last 30 minutes, the total was one small bass and a pouting. But knowing what I know about what is happening in the rocks at the moment, it wasnt good enough. For the last 30 minutes I put BIF1 onto some very shallow ground, and , ala shazam, fish were found. Only 2, but the deep colour that showed they were living in the rocks a while meant suddenly lots of boxes got ticked in my fishy head. Looks like Thursday before I can prove the theory now due to wind, although I have three shore sessions now booked in, all based on this same theory before then. Suddenly, I am excited for all my customers. Things finally looking up.
