ust 1.3 sailings today, due to an inaccurate weather forecast. Out with me for the first sailing, where the wind really did do as it was told, Matt, Peter, Charlie and Ted. This one we held on for the full 3 hours, although actually it was pretty calm for all of it, with the breeze that would later become an issue only increasing right at the end. Finding the fish was the harder thing. I took the first hour to poke around, and then settled on the fishiest area I found for the rest of the trip. This panned out well, with 9 bass landed, plus a cuttle fish, a couple of bream, a mackerel and a coddie. A good example of the mixed fishing we have out there.

2nd sailing started poorly, with one person short. And then, as we exited the marina, it was clear the wind had stiffened. That was fine, as it was still in a NW direction, and we got going. But 8 fish later, the wind had stiffened further, and worse, had swung to the SW. We held on for an hour and a half, but then I had to accept that the sea state was getting to the point where lure control was almost impossible, despite stepping up to heavier shads, and I called a close to the session, cancelling the 1430 sailing at the same time. A real shame, as we were very much on the fish as well.

Sold out tomorrow, but Mondays forecast looks good for all 3 sailings. Spaces on the 0630 and 1030, message me on 07970 112774 if you would like to go on either of those. Thinking I may turn the 1430 on Monday over to squid and cuttlefish... If you are keen on either of those, you should be already in my cephalopod group on Whatsapp. If you are not, and you like squid or cuttle fish fishing, simply message your full name and the word SQUID to 07970 112774
