First sailing, and all regulars. Kas, Max, Sam and Armando. Highly trained bass assassins although, for a while, there wasnt so much to assassinate. It took a while of digging around before birds gave the game away and off we went. Six killed as only six were required. 24 landed, with a 3-1 smalls to quality ratio. 3 smalls for every table fish. Roughly. No beasts, but bbq fodder most certainly.

2nd sailing was a grueller over the slack low, with Mikhail, John, Ian and Fred onboard. Just couldn't find any fish to settle on. Birds were done with giving their help, a sign that the bait has most likely wandered offshore. A crawl through the rocks showed just 5 small bass landed. We did the last bit on the plaice, and although we caught a few, nothing from this session was killed for the table.

3rd sailing, and Mikhail once more, plus Darren returning after a few years of catching Essex bass, and also, a rescue from another skipper with technical issues, it was my pleasure to welcome aboard Rachel and her son Andrew. A few pointers and Rachel and Andrew were both fishing to a perfectly fish catching standard. Which is why I guess they both caught fish! The ratio of big to small slipped to 6 to 1, with 1 of twelve bass killed, and another released for the crime of being over 60cm, at 65cm. Plus mackerel backups. And happy smiles all around. A pretty good day really.
