Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 30th June 2025

And there went June. So fast. A shadow of last June for fishy adventures. But there is a reason for that, and I do believe the best is yet to come. Although the media is full of heatwave hysteria just now, dont forget that the sun did not shine for January and February this year. As such, the sea temperatures got into a lag without the solar energy holding them up, and so all the temperature dependant species (crabs) are running later this year.

Lots of brit still though, and we started this mornings session, accompanied by John, John, Barry and Howard, fishing the brit shoals. With smalls the result. Im getting a little tired of this routine now, so, once everyone was comfortable with technique and anticipating those crabs, I committed to travelling through the rocks. The fishing is at a much slower pace than when fishing the britt shoals, but the fish are a better quality. Just ten fish landed, plus gurnards, but from that three bronze backed creatures for the table. Not a tragic session for June.

Unlike the remaining two sessions.

Rather than drag it out, I will combine the reasons for both sessions. Too many fish in the sea. Curtains of tiny fishes everywhere,. giving so much choice and spreading out the shoals. Two small schoolies on both sessions. very poor. Tomorrows only sailing due to wind, will be focusing on non fry eating fishes. Watch this space...
